There’s a little section in the Craigslist “For Sale” area that goes against the grain of the category and gives people a place to advertise not what they are selling, but what they wish other people would sell to them. It’s a nice way for those too lazy to browse the ads to still have a chance at finding what they’re looking for. Those who have way too much stuff of random assortment can then go looking through this area and see if they happen to possess any of the strange and unusual objects that people are looking for.
Many of these desired objects are things like collectibles or items so unique that even a thorough search across the rest of Craigslist would likely produce no results. And so the ads sit and fester, waiting for someone to randomly come across them. The section seems to rely on the mystic force of luck to function properly and I wonder at how many people achieve positive results from posting there.
I’ve decided to go through these ads and see if I could find some of the odder ones. Below are four selections that made me smile. Enjoy.
